Thank You for Your Support

After ELEVEN years of bringing hope to cancer warriors, the critically ill, and caregivers across the United States, we are announcing the closing of Albums of Hope effective June 1, 2022. Thank you for all of your support through the years! Your help and generosity have given hope to over 80,000 people. Together, we have a lot to be proud of.

Our Story

Albums of Hope began as a personal mission to feel helpful when Founder and President, Laura Townsend, felt helpless against cancer. Her husband, diagnosed with colorectal cancer in September 2008, had undergone chemotherapy treatments for over two years. As his caregiver, Laura often felt helpless in her ability to bring Brad comfort during his long battle. She turned to her love of scrapbooking as an outlet, and with the help of family and friends, they created albums to give to patients where Brad went for treatment. They filled 100 pocket-sized albums with uplifting quotes and photos and donated them to Northshore Oncology in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

After a hard fight, Brad lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2011. In his memory, Laura and her team of Hope Heroes continued the mission of Albums of Hope for eleven years.

We are so grateful for the partnership we had with Creative Memories. Creative Memories graciously provided in-kind donations of blank albums, which Albums of Hope volunteers and Ambassadors then filled with our printed messages and photos of hope. We are filled with gratitude for all the support they gave us over the years.
